NG20 is an anonymous producer, songwriter, and collaborator creating alternative pop with electronic and classical influences. Based on the borders of Derbyshire, Nottinghamshire, and Yorkshire, NG20 produces instrumental tracks and collaborates remotely with featured vocalists. The debut single “Stringshire” blends orchestral strings with house rhythms, establishing a sound that bridges tradition and modernity. LONG BIO
NG20 is a producer and songwriter who has spent a lifetime using music as therapy, escape, and expression. Growing up with an abusive father and struggling with severe social anxiety from a young age, music became the one safe space where emotions could be processed and trauma could be transformed into something meaningful.
Now 41, with a catalogue of hundreds of songs at various stages of completion, NG20 has found a way to finally share this work with the world—on terms that respect the limitations social anxiety creates. The project is built around remote collaboration with featured vocalists, allowing the artists to take the spotlight whilst NG20 remains behind the scenes handling production, songwriting, and creative direction.
The sound is alternative pop with influences ranging from classical to house, dance to electronic. Genre boundaries are intentionally fluid. NG20’s debut single “Stringshire” is an instrumental that merges orchestral strings and piano with pulsing house rhythms, a reflection of both geographical roots (the borders of Derbyshire, Nottinghamshire, and Yorkshire) and artistic philosophy (bridging tradition with modernity).
